Each are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following Brendan Rodgers' resignation on the start of the week. McKenna's Stance on The Scottish Club McKenna described Celtic as "a really big football club" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side. The mid-thirties took charge of Portman Road in 2021 and guided the team to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only four games last campaign as they were demoted back to the second division and they currently sit 12th in England's second tier. "I have not had any of those conversations," the London-born former Northern Ireland youth international said when questioned about being on the candidate list. "It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently. "I possess a unique position here at a special team. And we're at a crucial phase of the campaign. Everything outside of that hasn't reached my awareness." Background and Contractual Aspects Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to Celtic given his childhood support. "During youth, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about those. "I don't think everyone has to publicly and declare what they were, but of course it's a massive football club." The coach agreed to a fresh four-year contract in 2024 and was asked about his reported buyout clause. "In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he replied. "I don't know what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you regardless! "I approach this job like I'll be Town's coach forever. I know that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I remain in position." The Welsh Coach's Situation The former striker played for the Hoops on loan from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh forward is minded to complete the current World Cup campaign, a stance that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from assuming the Glasgow position. Wales are currently third in their qualifying group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up Macedonia. Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would book their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of reaching that stage, due to a productive Nations League performance, should they not end up Group J second place. Given his present stance, Bellamy, whose agreement concludes after Euro 2028, would be unavailable until after the play-offs at the earliest.
