Netflix Selects Spot-On Star for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season

The Secret Organization is set to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a adored, popular member has now been chosen.

The platform declared this week that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bentham. This character can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a version of that role reinterpreted as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and cartoon version.

Escola is joined by multiple fresh additions set to bring the organization to the screen, including chief Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, an emerging star as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.

Even though this character is a important part of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece season 3. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a major departure in the placement of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the story’s structure.

Their mix of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
